It all began with a 250 year old wine press from the Wachau region of Austria.
The wood was weather beaten from time and usage. Its deep furrows, notches, grooves and cracks fascinated the artist-designer Irene Maria Ganser.
The material’s history brings the past into the present, the rugged wooden grain immortalized in metal. Each slice is unique, nuanced reflections of light in deep gray and black.
